Nathan Daly to star in ‘Ex on the Beach: International’

Former NRL player Nathan Daly will star in the first series of Ex on the Beach: International after becoming the subject of a nasty online exchange between multiple women throughout the world.

Daly has already been nominated for The Frownlow Medal Hall of Fame after being arrested for public nuisance, but was nominated for the reality TV show after producers read the enormous thread of comments about him on a website called thedirty.com.

The Frownlow Medal is awarded to the player whose off-field demeanour epitomises the values of the modern-day footballer and draws attention to the status of footballers as role models to young Australians. It covers Australia’s four major football codes; the National Rugby League (NRL), Australian Football League (AFL), the A-League (Football) and Rugby Union’s Super Rugby competition. NRL player Shaun Kenny-Dowall won the inaugural medal in 2015, while NRL star Jarryd Hayne is the most recent recipient.

The Frownlow Medal Hall of Fame honours former players and players who received media attention in previous seasons, for similarly scandalous behaviour, and its inductees include Ben Cousins and Julian O’Neill.

The extensive thread is titled ‘Stay Away From Nathan Daly Sydney’ and it includes unproven accusations that Daly is a liar, a thief, a drug addict and a con artist, who used a fake name on twitter and has deceived many women in Australia and overseas. None of the accusations have ever been proven despite claims police had opened a case against Daly.

Women on the thread accuse Daly of befriending them and using his looks and charm to win their confidence, before convincing them to pay for things or stealing their money, jewellery and possessions. The former Bronco is also accused of getting a woman pregnant and refusing to care for the child, as well as running off with the woman’s money.

Comments claim he also created conflict with his own relatives over money, and that he stole from and cheated on a woman called Yvonne Coldeweijer in The Netherlands:

Google Nathan Daly and his ex Yvonne coldeweijer. He stole from her and cheated on her several times. If you translate the articles she had him removed from the country as she was his sponser,” reads the unproven comment on thedirty.com. Further comments claim Daly was eventually deported from The Netherlands, which is also unproven.

“These accusations make Nathan perfect for a role on reality TV,” state the producers of Ex on the Beach: International “…and demonstrate exactly why so many former footballers are appearing on reality TV shows all over Australia.”

“The online thread on thedirty.com is full of vitriolic and spiteful comments attacking and defending Nathan, and even if the comments are completely untrue it doesn’t matter, they will still hook viewers and drive up our ratings.”

Producers were also excited that the accusations continued.

Women claim Daly also boasted about a prestigious role on the Australian Olympic team and exaggerated his ability as a professional footballer. The latter is clearly the most believable claim on the entire thread, as his NRL career never reached any great heights. Women are also extremely shocked and disgusted that Daly took up a position with a charity working with vulnerable children.

At the same time, many women on the thread staunchly defend Daly and strongly refute the claims of other women, and portray him as attractive, charming, honest and decent.

It’s very obvious this is a small group of scorned, unstable women who have gotten together to try and brin him down,” read one of many similar comments.

“I mean the accusations aren’t even original, it’s prettu standard for immature people to come out with the he/she is a drd crack head anyway haha.”

“Oh my god girl, get over it. Each time you post is more desperate and pathetic then the last haha. Seriously!! You got rejected by a guy, get a grip and a life. Your just a stalker. We who are all his real friends know the truth. As I said before, a bunch of scorned, crazed, obsessed and classless lunatics that can’t accept that HE DONT WANT YOU HAHA”

“Some of the comments are priceless,” explained EOTBI producers. “Even our writers couldn’t script this stuff, like this one:”

“You’re so upset I called you and the rest classless yet you went on a bogan rampage name calling and carrying on like a wild animal. Stop with the lies. If he stole from you and all these other women then the man would be in jail you stupid stupid woman. And all the crying and carrying on that he is putting women at risk by having drds and spreading them, guess what? Stop being a dirty hoe, know who your sleeping with and for the love of god take some responsibility and wear a condom. This is laughable, Nathan and my self have both laughed, you are all spiraling out of control and the stories get crazier. Death threats, unborn babies, thousands stolen , drugs, lol. He seems to be doing pretty well considering he isn’t in jail for all these alleged falsified claims. Go back to stalking another sports star that use groupies for sex. It’s clearly all any of you had been worth.”

“You could just imagine jealous contestants saying this stuff to each other behind the scenes on reality TV couldn’t you,” continued the producers.

EOTBI creators were also intrigued by a post that appears to be written by a lawyer or someone official. Someone calling themselves The Investigator wrote in 2018;

“Due to the nature of the defamatory post, We suggest this is removed in a timely manner. Your digital fingerprint and IP address is now known. After several failed attempts to contact you we will proceed with informing the board of registration of dentistry VIC of the current situation. ie- Harrassment, Stalking, Defamation.”

“If he can incite that much hatred, conflict, emotion, swearing, devotion and spite online, imagine what he can create on screen,” said producers.

The person who posted the original comments which prompted the thread on thedirty.com, at one point asks for the comments to be removed, stating:

EMAILED: Nik, as you can see from my email I am the person who wrote the comments under – Leopards don’t change their spots.

Can you please delete my comments as I now am fearing for my safety and I need these removed. Please can you do this for me?

No.- nik

It is believed network executives are considering turning the reality TV show into a soap opera, such is the drama, vitriol, emotion and controversy surrounding this one man. It might even be called ‘ The Dirty’ in honour of the website which launched Daly’s reality TV career.

The mystery surrounding Tui Kamikamica.

NRL player Tui Kamikamica is the most mysterious nominee for The Fronwlow Medal this year after being cleared and punished for the same incident.

Kamikamica was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm after an altercation with a female in Fortitude Valley in November 2021, and was cleared by the courts. However, the NRL issued him with a breach notice, a fine and a suspension.

The Storm player is thus eligible and ineligible for The Frownlow Medal for exactly the same incident.

The legal system dismissed the charges in April 2022, but the NRL conducted its own investigation and alleged Kamikamica had brought the game into disrepute. He was fined $10,000 ($5,000 suspended) and stood down for 10 games. He was also required to complete “mandatory personal development and tailored rehabilitation programs with NRL Wellbeing & Education”.

The NRL based its decision on CCTV footage of the incident which allegedly shows Kamikamica in a physical altercation with a female.

So, will Kamikamica be in the running for the prestigious award when it is decided at the end of 2022?

The mystery surrounding the rampaging forward also poses another hugely important question: is he eligible for The Fronwlow Medal Wife Beater Tattoo and The Fronwlow Medal Wife Beaters Club?

Why Taylan May believes he did nothing wrong.

Taylan May did it for the boys. He did it for the club, and for the great game of rugby league. That’s why he believes he escaped punishment from the NRL for an alleged assault in Queensland in 2021.

May has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm after allegedly dragging a man to the ground at a Sunshine Coast nightclub while celebrating Penrith’s grand final win, and has received a nomination for The Frownlow Medal.

May is adamant he did nothing wrong, and is not afraid of punishment from the courts, because he did what he did to protect captain Nathan Cleary from hecklers.

“I stuck up for Cleary. I don’t think I was in the wrong,” he told the media.

“Anyone in my position, if they’re a good friend, they would have done what I did.”

He also did it for the team. Winning Frownlow honours is the greatest achievement for any Australia-based football team. Plenty of Panthers players have been inducted into The Fronwlow Medal Hall of Fame, including Craig Gower, but none of the medallists has played for Penrith. May’s own brother, Tyrone, played for the Panthers and came close to winning in 2021. He pleaded guilty to four counts of recording intimate images without consent. He was sentenced to 300 hours of community work and narrowly avoided jail time. Another offence saw him lose his contract.

Taylan’s actions earned praise from his coach Ivan Cleary.

“He’ll always put others above himself,” Cleary said to the media.

“Growing up it’s probably got him into a bit of trouble, but that’s why we love him, he’s constantly putting the team first and putting his brothers ahead of him.”

“He’s definitely not a selfish guy.”

He also did it for rugby league.

The NRL took no action against the rookie, suggesting they are trying to protect The Frownlow Medal, which they have won every year except 2020, when it went to AFL player Elijah Taylor. Punishing May would keep him on the sidelines and thus less able to remind Frownlow judges that a rugby league player deserves to win the medal yet again.

“I didn’t want the situation to escalate. (My teammates) are big names, I’m a nobody . . . the security were on my side. The situation for me, it doesn’t really faze me. I’ve put it behind me and just focused on the game,” May explained.

Has May done enough to keep The Frownlow Medal in the hands of the NRL for another year?

Joel Romelo nominated for The Frownlow Medal Hall of Fame.

Former NRL player Joel Romelo has been nominated for The Frownlow Medal Hall of Fame following a series of offences which saw him in and out of jail since 2016. Romelo pleaded guilty to horrific domestic violence charges and was found guilty of drug and traffic offences.

The Frownlow Medal is awarded to the player whose off-field demeanour epitomises the values of the modern day footballer and draws attention to the status of footballers as role models to young Australians. It covers Australia’s four major football codes; the National Rugby League (NRL), Australian Football League (AFL), the A-League (Football) and Rugby Union’s Super Rugby competition. Kiwi international Shaun Kenny-Dowall won the inaugural medal in 2015, while Jarryd Hayne is the most recent recipient.

The Frownlow Medal Hall of Fame honours former players and players who received media attention in previous seasons, for similarly scandalous behaviour, and its inductees include Ben Cousins and Julian O’Neill.

Romelo courted controversy as early as 2007. He was sacked by the Cronulla Sharks for disciplinary reasons and signed with the Penrith Panthers. He was then sacked by the Panthers in 2010 for a drink driving offence, and later complained to the press that he had to catch public transport to training.

The former Bulldogs and Storm player went to prison for offences such as drug possession and trafficking, driving dangerously while unregistered, unlicensed and uninsured, and with meth in his system.

In 2016, he was charged for his role in a meth dealing ring in Darwin. Following an anonymous tip off, Romelo was found with 14g of methamphetamine in his vehicle, and another 2g in his home, alongside $10,000 in cash. He was found to be in breach of bail and was remanded in custody.

A year later, the former hooker was jailed form two years and disqualified from driving as a result of the driving and drug offences. He clearly did not rehabilitate while behind bars, and in 2019 he was jailed for three years for two high speed car chases and domestic violence.

Romelo eventually pleaded guilty to attacking his ex-girlfriend. The court heard that he broke her eye socket during a violent attack, and ripped chunks from her hair, as well as punching and choking her until she almost lost consciousness, because she refused to give him the passcode to her phone.

Romelo joins a long list of Frownlow nominees who have spent time in prison and he may have to watch the awards ceremony for The Frownlow Medal Hall of Fame on a caged TV in a crowded common room.

Jordan De Goey’s vital new role at the Pies.

Jordan De Goey has a new clause in his contract with Collingwood FC in 2022, and it requires him to win The Frownlow Medal. De Goey almost lost his contract and career after assault charges in the USA, but has been welcomed back to the Magpies on the condition that he brings the award to the famous club.

“Jordan is our best chance ever to win The Frownlow Medal,” said a club spokesperson. “That is why we went to such great lengths to rescue him from the US legal system and renew his contract. The new clause has been added and agreed to, and we are certain Jordan will do everything he can to win the medal.”

De Goey was charged with assault after an incident in a bar in New York in 2021, but the assault charges were downgraded to second-degree harassment, to which he has now pleaded guilty.

“I’ve promised the club I’ll win them the Frownlow this year,” stated De Goey on his first day back at training.

“I know I can do it. I mean, I’ve never raped anyone like Jarryd (Hayne), but I’ve been nominated almost 10 times over 5 years. Mate, I got nominated three times last year because that’s how much I want this medal, and I want to do it for the club. I love the club, I love the boys. Plus, I had to promise I’d win the Pies the medal when they bailed me out of jail in the states, so, yeah, I owe them big time.”

The most hated club in Aussie Rules has supplied many nominees, including the famous Rat Pack of Ben Johnson, Alan Didak and Dane Swan, but even they couldn’t win the medal. The club itself was nominated after numerous racism controversies, and club legends such as Damian Monkhorst, Nathan Buckley and Brian Taylor have all been in contention for the award.

More than 16 Collingwood players have been nominated for the medal or the hall of fame, and even Eddie McGuire would have been nominated if he’d played AFL, especially after what he said about Adam Goodes.

“…we even recruited (swimmer) Grant Hackett in 2016 when he got stupidly drunk on a plane beside one of our executives. That’s how desperate we are to win this medal, and why we welcomed Jordan back into the club.”

Collingwood is also determined to wrestle the medal back from the NRL, which has won it six out of seven times, and which stole the prize back from the AFL after Elijah Taylor won it in 2020.

De Goey has been nominated, and incurred fines or suspensions, for incidents such as alleged assault, drink driving, fighting in a nightclub, inuring his hand, lying about it to the media and forcing his coach to repeat the lie, and now for second-degree harassment.

What will he do in 2022?

Curtis Scott nominated for The Frownlow Medal Hall of Fame.

Former NRL player Curtis Scott has been nominated for The Frownlow Medal Hall of Fame after being arrested and charged with historic alleged domestic violence offences.

Scott was charged with two counts of intentionally choke person with recklessness, two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (domestic), and three counts of common assault (DV), for incidents which are alleged to have occurred in 2018. He has been granted conditional bail and will appear in court soon.

The former premiership winner has now earned nominations for The Fronwlow Medal Hall of Fame and The Frownlow Medal. He first came to the attention of Frownlow judges in 2020, when he was arrested in thrown into jail on Australia Day. He reportedly resisted arrest and allegedly kicked and punched a police officer in the face before being tasered. This happened before he had even played a game for his new club Canberra.

Scott was later awarded $100,000 after it was found that police had wrongly tasered him

In 2021, he did not play in the NRL from Round 12, 2021, after an incident at a Canberra nightclub saw him charged with assault. He was later sanctioned with a $15,000 fine and three-game ban, and eventually the Raiders terminated his contract. He then declared in late 2021 that he had been attending Alcoholics Anonymous and had been seeing a psychologist for treatment.

Scott must now wait for the courts to determine his guilt or innocence on the latest charges, and must wait until the end of the year to find out if he has been inducted into The Frownlow Medal Hall of Fame.

Brandon Smith to join Payne Haas.

Payne Haas and Brandon Smith are the only NRL players to achieve the rare honour of being selected in the Dally M Team of the Year and The Frownlow Medal Team of the Year in 2021.

Haas was judged to be one of the best props in the game, while Smith was voted the best hooker this year at the Dally M awards night. Both players were also nominated for The Frownlow Medal for separate incidents.

NRL player Shaun Kenny-Dowall won the inaugural medal in 2015, while AFL player Elijah Taylor is the most recent recipient.

Smith, known among league fans as the Block of Cheese, was nominated after a leaked video showed him in possession of cocaine at a house party just days after losing the preliminary final to Penrith and being named the game’s best hooker.

Haas, meanwhile, earned his Frownlow nomination way back in January. He was arrested on charges of intimidation and verbal abuse, and reports allege that he was intoxicated at the time. The incident occurred near the NSW/Queensland border.

It was not his first run in with police. In 2019 he appeared in court over two drink-driving incidents, and in the same year he was suspended and fined by the Broncos for refusing to cooperate with the NRL integrity unit in relation to two off-field incidents.

Haas and Smith will reunite later this year at a second awards night, and the ceremony for The Frownlow Medal and The Frownlow Medal Hall of Fame offers as much cocaine, drinking and anti-social behaviour as they can handle.

Tui Kamikamica nominated for The Fronwlow Medal.

NRL player Tui Kamikamica has been nominated for The Frownlow Medal after being charged with an alleged incident involving a woman.

NRL player Shaun Kenny-Dowall won the inaugural medal in 2015, while AFL player Elijah Taylor is the most recent recipient.

Kamikamica has been stood down by the Melbourne Storm after police charged the front rower over an alleged incident involving a woman outside a hotel in Brisbane recently. He has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm following the alleged incident in Fortitude Valley, and is accused of assaulting a 30-year-old woman.

The NRL Integrity Unit and police are investigating the incident, and Kamikamica’s fate will be known at the completion of the investigations.

Kamikamica may have timed the alleged incident perfectly, as is it only a matter of weeks before judges award The Frownlow Medal for 2021, and his deeds are sure to be fresh in their thoughts.

Even if he doesn’t win the coveted medal, he is guaranteed an invitation to Australian sport’s night of nights, the award ceremony for The Frownlow Medal and The Frownlow Medal Hall of Fame.

Tom Starling earns a second chance.

NRL player Tom Starling has earned a second nomination for The Frownlow Medal after being arrested at a bar on the NSW Central Coast.

NRL player Shaun Kenny-Dowall won the inaugural medal in 2015, while AFL player Elijah Taylor is the most recent recipient.

Starling’s second nomination came at the same bar where he earned his first in 2020. The Canberra Raiders hooker and three other people were refused entry to a bar in Kincumber and are alleged to have threatened the security who would not let them in. Two of the group are alleged to have fled the scene on foot, while the other two reportedly yelled and hindered police, resulting in charges of assaulting a police officer.

The incident which earned Starling his first nomination left him with scars and bruises all over his face and led to accusations that he assaulted a police officer. This recent incident creates doubt over his playing future, as he is yet to sign a new deal with the Raiders.

The bigger question, though, is whether Starling will be allowed into the awards night for The Frownlow Medal later this year.

Anthony Milford does something newsworthy.

Anthony Milford Arrested for Assault is a better headline than ‘Anthony Milford Overpaid’ or ‘Anthony Milford Out of Form’. It’s also more likely to win him The Frownlow Medal in 2021.

The NRL player made headlines recently after being arrested in Brisbane for alleged assault of three people in the early hours of the morning. He was charged with three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of wilful damage.

NRL player Shaun Kenny-Dowall won the inaugural medal in 2015, while AFL player Elijah Taylor is the most recent recipient.

Milford is alleged to have become involved in an argument with his wife, and mother of his young child, as well as other people. He is said to have fled the scene. Police then hunted him though the streets of Fortitude Valley and arrested him, before making him spend the night in a police cell.

Alleged assault is also far more impressive than the incidents which earned Milford his previous Frownlow nominations. He was nominated for ‘liking’ Israel Folau’s famous homophobic social media post, and in previous years was nominated for a drunken incidents at the Canberra Raiders, and for breaking team curfew with the Queensland State of Origin team.

He leaves the Brisbane club this year after seven lacklustre seasons, and this could be the most memorable thing he does for the Broncos. Rabbitohs fans must be happy that they are already getting their money’s worth out of their 2022 recruit.

The alleged incident occurred near a nightclub called Ella Sabe, Spanish for She Knows. What does she know?
