Are you watching Curtis Scott?

Are you watching former NRL player Curtis Scott?

Are you thinking about him, are you wondering what he’s up to and assessing his performance, or are you watching paint dry?

You might not know that he has earned another nomination for The Frownlow Medal Hall of Fame because of who he hasn’t been watching.

The Frownlow Medal is awarded to the player whose off-field demeanour epitomises the values of the modern-day footballer and draws attention to the status of footballers as role models to young Australians. It covers Australia’s four major football codes: the men’s and women’s National Rugby League (NRL), Australian Football League (AFL), the A-League (Football) and Rugby Union’s Super Rugby competition. NRL player Shaun Kenny-Dowall won the inaugural medal in 2015, while AFL player Noah Balta is the most recent recipient.

The Frownlow Medal Hall of Fame honours former players and players who received media attention in previous seasons, for similarly scandalous behaviour, and its inductees include Ben Cousins and Julian O’Neill.

Scott recently took to social media to tell the world (or at least those who follow him) what he thinks of women’s sport. He is quoted as posting:

“The only way I would watch chicks play rugby if only if they were kissing each other”

“For all the rugby bitches messaging me. Honestly rather watch paint dry then watch women’s rugby on tv fucks sakes. Fuck the woke world grow up”

Scott clearly skipped a few English lessons at Endeavour Sports High, but grammar is not the issue here. The issue is:

Are you thinking about who Scott is kissing these days?

Do you remember anything Scott did on the footy field?

Do you remember what he has done off the footy field?

You may remember he drove drunk, crashed his ute into a number of trees and left the scene of the crash in Sydney’s south in 2024. He was sentenced to an 18-month conditional release order without conviction. In 2023, he was charged with driving with a suspended licence.

The former centre was also accused of attacking a teenager at the SCG after a Sydney Swans game, with his alleged victim suffering serious facial injuries. Scott spent the night behind bars and was also accused of assaulting police.

On that occasion, his mum was there to help him.

You would also remember that Scott was inducted into the Frownlow Medal Hall of Fame in 2022 after being found guilty of domestic violence against a former partner. This also earned him a Wife Beater Tattoo and a place in The Frownlow Medal Wife Beaters Club, as well as destroying his NRL career.

Curtis then switched to boxing and has had a less than stellar career in the ring. Yes, he has won fights, but he shouldn’t be expecting a call from Don King.

What Curtis might not realise is that many people are actually watching women’s rugby league, as well as rugby union and other sports. But the people watching him the most are his lawyers.
