The Sydney Swans have reimagined their team song and AFL fans are calling it the end of football as we know it.
Leaning into Diversity and Inclusion, and continuing its quest to please all the people all the time, the AFL has spawned the following tune:
Cheer cheer (or finger clap) the red and the white (or any team’s colours)
Honour the name (and pronouns) by day and by night (or non-binary timeframes)
Lift that noble (or proletariat) banner high,
Shake down the thunder (or encourage it gently) from the sky
Whether the odds (or evens) be great or be small (gamble responsibly)
Swans (or pens) will go in and win (or participate) over all
While our loyal (or republican) swans are marching (or walking)
onwards to victory (or participation)
