Reuben Ginbey in shock transfer to Hawthorn.

West Coast Eagles youngster Reuben Ginbey will transfer to Hawthorn Hawks after proving he is the perfect player for the Wees and Poos.

The Frownlow Medal is awarded to the player whose off-field demeanour epitomises the values of the modern-day footballer and draws attention to the status of footballers as role models to young Australians. It covers Australia’s four major football codes: the men’s and women’s National Rugby League (NRL), Australian Football League (AFL), the A-League (Football) and Rugby Union’s Super Rugby competition. NRL player Shaun Kenny-Dowall won the inaugural medal in 2015, while NRL star Ezra Mam is the most recent recipient.

Ginbey will make the sudden move to the east coast after being allegedly caught urinating in public and being charged by police, which earned him his first nomination for The Frownlow Medal. The 20-year-old with the retro mullet was reportedly caught while attending a music event in Western Australia. He was clearly following the coach’s advice to stay hydrated during the off-season and had to relieve himself in a manner common to professional footballers since the dawn of time.

He has also made himself popular with true footy fans with this classic form of off-field scandal and his long blonde mullet. He won even more fans after it was revealed that he was also charged with failing to comply with police by not giving personal details.

Did he forget that WA is full of hardcore AFL fans who are likely to recognise him despite being a rookie?

To cement his spot in the Hawks run-on team this year, the rookie now has to be charged with pooing in public.
